2009 Black Tie & Blue Jeans "Finding A Way . . . "
Thanks to the overwhelming support from faithful supporters, new friends, Board Members and guests, the 2009 Benefit Dinner & Auction turned out to be our most successful to date! Your enthusiasm is helping to “find a way” to undertake the 2009 Branches Summer Shade camp at all four Branches sites while continuing to build other ministries that help to move people from poverty to prosperity.
Guests enjoyed the camaraderie of friends while bidding on unique items such as signed sports memorabilia; artwork by Britto and Humberto Benitez; day of fishing on a Hatteras fishing boat; flying lessons in an original Grumman Tiger; a once-in-a-lifetime experience in the control room of CBS Evening News with Katie Couric; and, many more. A common question during the evening was, “Where and how did you secure all these wonderful auction items?”
Mystery boxes were a big hit among guests!
We are grateful that so many of SFLUM’s stakeholders were represented at the event: from program participants and alumni, community volunteers, Board Members, faithful individual donors, church supporters, foundations, public leaders to corporate friends and staff. Together, we are “finding a way” to offer hope and opportunity to many children and families in our community!
